Welcome

My name is Juan Velasquez, LPC (he/him) and my ideal clients are those seeking to make a positive change in their lives currently and for the future. My typical clients start their therapeutic journey by seeking to alleviate symptoms such as  anxiety, depression, emerging identities as well as life stressors. Our goal is to integrate parts of themselves previously unknown or unreachable and this is done by creating a safe and strong therapeutic bond. This bond is what allows us to explore past trauma, experiences and thoughts as well as helping us deepen our understanding and learn how they may be impacting our current everyday living. Although I work with a variety of folx, my passion lies in working with members of the LGBTQ+ community as well as BIPOC.

 
 

  • I have experience working with folx who are in the midst of identity development, dealing with anxiety and depression and complex traumas. I draw from my own experiences as a gay, Latinx immigrant to help strengthen my therapeutic approach. I utilize an integrated approach drawing experience from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Client-Centered, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy as well as a Psychodynamic approach. I am a Trained EMDR therapist. Compassion and understanding are at the cornerstone of this integrative approach as I passionately meet my clients where is needed.

  • I value empathy and directness as important principles of therapy. I invite the clients to develop meaningful growth by co-creating strategies and treatment plans that will be personalized to meet their goals. Together we can map out and create a journey towards healing that feels authentic to you.
